Unfortunately, as with anything, there has to be guidelines in place to ensure the safety of all those attending, the organisers, and Goodwood staff. Please find our guidelines below, which also acts as an FAQ.

Families and pets

Minis at Goodwood is a family event and children are welcome. Children will be allowed in cars during track laps, but please ensure they are seated as per the rules of the road. If they require a booster seat on the road, they should use one on the track also.

We welcome dogs to the circuit as long as they are kept on a lead. They will not be allowed in the Pit Lane or in the cars while they are on track.

Cars and road worthiness

All cars taking part in Minis at Goodwood should be roadworthy and road legal. All cars must have valid MOT (where applicable), tax and insurance. The organisers reserve the right to refuse participation to any vehicle which is deemed not to be roadworthy.

Helmets and Track Laps

Minis at Goodwood is not a track day event. Laps of the Goodwood motor circuit will be conducted behind a Goodwood safety car at normal road speeds up to 60mph. Helmets are not required, but seat belts should be worn.

Insurance

All cars should have valid UK insurance in place. The navigational drive will be conducted on public roads, drivers will be liable for their own actions and driving whilst on the navigational drive. Please be aware that your road insurance may not cover you while you are on the Goodwood motor circuit, this is why the laps are conducted in small groups, at low speed behind a safety car, to minimise any risk. Remember, Minis at Goodwood is not a track day event.

Can I book a club stand?

There won’t be club stands at Minis at Goodwood – cars will be parked in the covered garages in the paddocks. You are more than welcome to bring and display club flags, but they must be secure and not pose any risk to other cars/people.

What do I need to bring with me?

You will be taking part in a navigational drive and special stages. We’d recommend ensuring you have a couple of pens/pencils in the car, and also a stopwatch. You’ll also need a trip meter to measure the distance between instructions, so if you car doesn’t have one fitted I can recommend using an app such as ‘Rally Tripmeter’.

How about Photos?

We are pleased to have Lee Crawley of IDEAlee with us at Goodwood as our official photographer. He will be capturing photos of you out on track, as well as images around the paddock. The photos will be made available to you digitally after the event, and prints and montages will be available to purchase.

What is the refund policy?

As Minis at Goodwood is a charity event, we urge you not to request a refund unless necessary. After all, every ticket refunded is less money raised for our charity, Buttle UK.

Cancellation requests received up to 30 days prior to the event will be refunded in full. Within 30 days of the event, no refunds can be offered. This is because the balance raised at that time is transferred to our charity.
