Minis and MINIs assembled once again at Goodwood Motor Circuit on the Sunday of the August Bank Holiday, 27th August 2023 for what was a sell-out event.
With all 143 garage spaces filled, attendees and spectators alike were in for a real treat as Mini after Mini ‘took to the track. Once they had completed their laps of the circuit, the teams had a go at our ‘special stage’ (a intricate driving test course made out of cones). Drivers had to weave their Minis through the cones, reverse park into a ‘garage’ (again made of cones), and then make their way back across the start/finish line crushing four espresso cups with their tyres on the way. All of this was done against the clock – but it was not a race. 35 seconds was the target time, and penalty points were applied for being under or over that time.
The Navigational Drive in 2023 took guests West away from the circuit into Hampshire, before coming back into West Sussex and enjoying favourite roads such as Harting Hill. The route was around 43 miles long, and wove intricately through beautiful scenery and villages.
Back in the paddock, the Merchandise and Raffle Tickets sold well thanks to Italian Job veteran Julio and contributed to our fantastic fundraising total on the day of £8,321.17 – a simply staggering amount of money raised for our fantastic charity – Buttle UK.
At the end of the day, all of the Minis and MINIs lined up on the grid for our customary group photo. This was by far the most cars we’ve ever had on the grid, and made a great spectacle, literally Minis as far as the eye can see.
