Minis at Goodwood 2025 took place on Sunday 24th August 2025 and once again we were blessed with fantastic sunshine down in the Sussex countryside.
The morning welcome speech was boosted by the presence of Mini royalty, Mr Mike Cooper. He spoke about the Italian Job and fundraising efforts, and the history between the Cooper Car Company, the Cooper family, and Goodwood Motor Circuit, which was fascinating to hear.
We were joined this year by a good mix of classic Minis and new MINIs, and also by MINI head office and some of their guests. It was great to have them with us, and they all enjoyed their Goodwood experience.
The Navigational Route took participants on a nice easy 40 mile route which took in sea views from the A259, beautiful freshly harvested fields, stone-wall villages, and some fantastic free flowing twisty A-Roads.
While half of the Minis attending were out on the route, the other half took to the famous historic Goodwood Motor Circuit, which was graced by the presence of Spitfires taking to the sunny blue skies. Seeing and hearing Spitfires under power with the unmistakeable Merlin engine while Minis pass around the track was spine tingling.
The charity element wasn’t forgotten – the event raised a fantastic £7,856.80 for children’s charity Buttle UK, which takes the running total the event has raised since we started in 2019 up to nearly £44,000.00.
The special stage and overall event trophy was won by Team 134 (Louise Chalken) with a time on the special stage of 34.44 seconds and no faults (the target time was 34.00 seconds). Special mention goes to David and Rebecca Kelly of team 37 who missed out by just 9/100ths of a second with a time of 34.53 seconds.
The photo competition was split between Team 124 for their photo of their Mini Moke with Cows, and a joint effort by Teams 50, 55, 56 and 57 who posed with their cars cleverly spelling out ‘MINI’.
2025 also saw for the first time the ‘Organisers Choice’ award, for the Mini the organiser would most like to take home, which Jon awarded to team 73 and their 1964 Austin Mini Cooper.
2025 was Jon’s last year as organiser, he leaves the event in good health and passes the organising mantra across to Freddie St. George of The Italian Job.
Minis at Goodwood will return in 2026 on Sunday 23rd August.
